Reboot

It's been a while, hasn't it? I fell into the cliche of starting a blog, writing the first post, and ignoring it for months! I kept thinking that I should write a new post, but was too lazy to do so. This laziness is something I really have to overcome to really get this company off the ground. It bleeds over into so many other things. I am passionate about wine and sharing it with others. So why does laziness creep in and prevent me from being successful? I'm not sure, but it's time for a reboot!

I was about to delete my first post since it's a bit embarrassing that it has been over 6 months since that post. However, I'm documenting my journey in starting up this business, and that's part of it. Let it stand. I'm sure there are others that fall into the same rut, and if I can have even 1 reader relate to that, maybe it will motivate them to continue with their passion as well.

I've been refocussing my effort and becoming a lot more active in establishing relationships with wineries. Those relationships will hopefully turn into friendships. That, in turn, will be key to providing customers a personalized experience when they visit the wineries. I have become more active over social media as well - primarily on Twitter and Instagram, but also getting used to the new Swarm App (@spotmesomewine).

So hopefully you'll wish me luck with this reboot, and I'll keep you posted on a more regular basis!

Here we go...

I've been working on this idea for a while. I enjoy wine, talking to people about wine, visiting wineries, talking to winemakers and other staff about the winemaking process, and pretty much anything else to do with wine. I live in the San Francisco Bay area and frequent the Napa and Sonoma valley areas to enjoy some amazing wines.

Over the years, I discovered some amazing wineries closer to home - namely in the Santa Cruz Mountain areas, South San Jose, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Watsonville, and Monterrey county. These are usually smaller wineries but put out a great product. I wanted to share these discoveries with the world, and with that was born the idea of starting a wine tourism company. This website is all about the company - Spot Me Some Wine.

However, starting a company is no joke. There is so much involved that has nothing to do with your actual product - wine tours, in my case. I plan to document my trials and tribulations of starting my company in this blog. I hope some of you can relate, and maybe use my experiences as a guide. I also hope that I can learn from your comments and advice. So with this post, I'm kicking off the blog. Thanks for visiting, and be sure to come back often to enjoy the latest update, and to add your comments. I will be reading them personally.
